I’m an eccentric renaissance woman who loves to explore and learn new things. Even before the days when my mom used to tell me I could *only* get as many library books as I could carry (aka a huge pile I had to steady with my chin), I’ve been on an eternal quest for knowledge (and hopefully wisdom).

I started teaching myself how to do digital art and photo editing when I was a little kid and only had Microsoft Paint to work with, creating images pixel by pixel.  During my teenage years I started gaining access to more powerful image manipulation programs, and started expanding my repertoire of skills.  After college, my self-taught skills reached a professional level and I started a career as a graphic designer.  I continue to constantly challenge myself to learn new skills and techniques.

My dream of traveling the world started to become a reality starting with multiple semesters abroad in Asia (both China and Japan).  I have also traveled through parts of Southeast Asia and Europe.  I hope to see the rest of the planet too someday.  I’m a polyglot because I love the insight languages give into cultures and their people, as well as how each language teaches you to think in new and different ways. My strongest languages are Japanese, French, Danish, and Mandarin.  I have also studied/dabbled a bit in other languages like Icelandic, Classical Chinese, and Hawaiian.

I’m a very creative and out of the box thinker, to the point where I am often quite confused as to where this so-called “box” really is. Gish is a lifestyle, and I try to spread the spirit of gishiness year round.  Only by embracing our true, crazy, abnosome selves, can we make a positive impact on the world.
